Das VOR-Instrument nutzt die GPS Daten um die Peilung zum Wegpunkt anzuzeigen.

Der obere Teil ist ein nachgebildeter VOR-Indikator. Die weiße Nadel (CDI: Course Deviation Indicator) zeigt die aktuelle Abweichung bis zu +/-12 Grad in Bezug auf dem gewählten Radial von oder zum Wegpunkt an.

Radial- und Kursauswahl werden durch eine auf oder abwärts Berührungs- und Wischgeste links oder rechts vom Kompassring ausgewählt.

Unterhalb des Hauptindikators wird der gewählte Wegpunkt, die Distanz bis zum gewählten Wegpunkt (Grosskreis Distanz) sowie die GPS-Genauigkeit angezeigt. Sie können jede Art von Wegpunkt (Flughafen, VOR, NDB, etc.) mit dem VOR-Instrument benutzen. (Ein echtes VOR-Instrument benötigt Radio-Signale von VOR, VOR/DME oder VORTAC Transmittern). A “NAV” warning flag will let you know that you should NOT trust the VOR indicator in the following cases:

• No waypoint is selected for the instrument;
• The waypoint distance is over 250 nautical miles;
• The GPS accuracy is less than 2.5 nautical miles.

Note 1: you don't need ground speed to get accurate information on this instrument.

Note 2: remember that you will ONLY find the slipball at the bottom of the instrument on iPhone/iPod Touch devices.
